Lucien "Louie" Dlugosinski, 94, of Acushnet, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Alden Court with his family by his side.
He was born in Fairhaven, to the late John Dlugosinski and Sophie (Buraczienski) Dlugosinski and was the husband of the late Leocadia "Lodga" (Kielbasa) Dlugosinski.
He was a graduate of Fairhaven High School where he was a quarterback on the football team. Louie followed in his brothers footsteps by joining the Navy during World War II, where he was a Seabee. After the war he became a sheet metal worker and went as far as teaching night classes at New Bedford Voc. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed working in his garden. He liked attending the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Polish festivals as well.
He is survived by his son, Karl Dlugosinski and his wife Sheila-Rae of Mattapoisett; a daughter, Karen Dlugosinski of Conway, NH; and three grand-daughters, Katie, Alicia and Naomi, as well as, several nieces and nephews. Louie was the last of seven children.
At this time there are no services planned. Funeral arrangements were made by Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.
