Lorraine (Teixeira) LeBert, 67, of North Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 20, 2019, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. She and her loving husband John P. LeBert, have shared the last 48 years together.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late John and Bemvinda (Coutinho) Teixeira, she grew up on a farm in Acushnet and settled in Dartmouth 45 years ago. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and had been a teaching assistant in the Dartmouth School system for 18 years until her recent retirement.
She loved to walk, read, dance, swim and enjoyed her dogs, Benjamin and Winston. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband were lucky to be the best of friends and often took pleasure in going out to dinner on the weekends. She loved her grandchildren tremendously and they were the light of her life. Her infectious laugh, unconditional love and beautiful smile will always be remembered.
She is survived by her husband John; a son, John R. LeBert and his fiancé Alison Bettencourt of Fairhaven; a daughter, Krystle B. Boiani and her husband Kyle of Acushnet; two grandchildren, Noah and Calianna Boiani; four brothers, Lou Teixeira and his wife Gail of Acushnet, John Teixeira of Fairhaven, Tony Teixeira and his companion Jean Sayles, Joe Teixeira and his wife Susan all of Acushnet; two sisters, Lydia Rodrigues and her husband Roy of Wareham and Lee-cee Teixeira and her companion Gilly of Acushnet; brothers in law, Roger and Phylis LeBert and family, Rene LeBert and his daughter Lacey and Russell Hiksdal and several nieces and nephews.
She will be cremated and memorial calling hours will be held Friday, March 1, 2019, from 6-9pm, in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, at cancer.org.
