Leroy A. DeMaranville Jr., 89, of Assonet, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, in Fall River. He was the husband of the late Muriel R.(Mansfield DeMaranville.
Leroy was born in Assonet, the son of the late Leroy A DeMaranville Sr. and the late Catherine (Munro) DeMaranville. Mr. DeMaranville worked for Modern Plastics as a tool maker and then at Apponequet High School as a custodian for several years. Mr DeMaranville served his country with the Army National Guard (220th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Unit)and served the Town of Freetown as an on call firefighter from 1961 to 1992. Leroy enjoyed horses and working around his homestead.
Survivors are a daughter: Penelope J. DeMaranville of Rehoboth, MA; two sons: Leroy A DeMaranville III and his wife Lynn of Fall River; and John R. DeMaranville and his Soulmate Michele Andrade of Assonet; three grandchildren: Jennifer, Danielle, and Brittany; two great grandchildren: Kristine and Stacy; two great great grandchildren: David and John along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Vera Briggs, Thelma Rogers and Lucille Sousa.
Burial Services will be held at a later date.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street, Fall River.
