Jeannine B. (Fontaine) Blanchard, 54, of Swansea, passed away suddenly, in Taunton, on Thursday, November 30, 2017, after being struck by an automobile on her way to work. She was the wife of thirty-one years to Robert A. Blanchard.
Jeannine was born in Fall River, the daughter of Gerald O. Fontaine Sr. and Jeanne (Gendreau) Fontaine both of Swansea. She was a graduate of Joseph Case High School class of 1984 and then earned her associates degree from Bristol Community College. Mrs. Blanchard worked for the Fall River School Department as a special education teacher, then for Sears as a saleslady. Jeannine had recently been working for Loomis Armored Incorporated, in Taunton, as a vault teller. Mrs. Blanchard was a communicant and a second grade CCD teacher at Saint Louis de France Church, in Swansea. She enjoyed traveling to Florida and Las Vegas. Mrs. Blanchard enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors besides her husband and parents are three sons: Robert A. Blanchard II, James G. Blanchard and Nicholas J. Blanchard all of Swansea; a brother: Robert J. Fontaine and his wife Kristie of Dighton; a niece: Madison Fontaine and a nephew: Jake Fontaine. She was the sister of the late Gerald O. Fontaine Jr.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 9am, from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am in Saint Louis de France Church, 56 Buffington Street, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Fall River.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017, from 4-7pm, in the funeral home.
