Obituary

James A. "Jimbo" LaFreniere, 68, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Taunton, MA, son of Albert and Louise (DaSilva) LaFreniere. Jimbo attended school in Taunton and was a graduate of Taunton High School.

Jim was a member of the Italian Naturalization Club of Taunton. He loved sports, playing pool, and scratch tickets, but most of all he loved being around his family and spoiling all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who all knew "if Nana said no, go to Papa".

Jim is survived by his wife, Janet (Hawes) LaFreniere; five children, Kevin Roy, Andrea Ramalho, Lisa Roy, Danielle Azevedo, and Deirdre Souza; seven siblings, Eddie, Scott, Louie, Louise, Suzanne, Janine, and Judy; was beloved "Papa" to eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother to the late Richard LaFreniere.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 4-7pm, in the Crapo Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. A brief service of celebration will be held at 6:30 pm.
