Jaime (Jimmy) V. Raposo, 59, passed away unexpectedly at home on February 14th. Mr. Raposo was the son of the late Antonio and Branca Raposo. Mr. Raposo had lived in Fall River prior to moving to Swansea 2 years ago.
Jimmy attended Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School and for many years worked in the construction business with his brothers.
He is survived by his sisters Teresa Stawarz (Fred) of Somerset, Clara Neville (Alan) of Cumberland, RI and Isabel Raposo (Tom Naughton) of Lake Orion, MI; brothers Roberto (Lori) of Somerset, Edwardo (Debbie) of Swansea, Gustavo (Helen) of Somerset, Nicolau (Lucie) of Pt. St. Lucie, FL, Anselmo (Celia) of Cumberland, RI and Tiberio Raposo (Lee) of Fall River. He was the brother of the late Fernanda Borges and Judith Raposo both of Fall River and Carmelia Raposo of Swansea. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jimmy enjoyed the company of his immediate and extended family, and always had a kind word and broad smile for everyone he met. He was a loyal sports fan of all of the New England teams. He was also an avid Jeopardy viewer and would astound family members by his ability to correctly answer the most obscure questions.
Cremation arrangements were provided by Hathaway Funeral Homes, Somerset. A memorial mass will be held at St. Louis de France Church, Swansea, on Wednesday, February 20th, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. The private interment of his ashes, to occur at a later date, will be at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
