Inez (Burke) Hartley, age 93, of North Dighton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold C. Hartley.
Inez was born in Jacksonville, FL, daughter of the late Clarence and Minnie(Smith)Burke. She attended Marianna High School, in Florida, and Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University), in Tallahassee.
She was employed at Raytheon Company, in North Dighton, and later in Norwood, from which she retired, in 1986, as the supervisor of the Accounts Payable Department. After retirement, she volunteered at Dighton Elementary School, reading to third grade students.
Mrs. Hartley enjoyed a personal relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ and over the years faithfully served Him as a member of the First Congregational Church of Raynham and prior to that as an active member of the former Trinity United Methodist Church where she was Sunday School superintendent and kindergarten teacher for many years, Member of the Women's Group, Financial Secretary, and Secretary of the Church Council.
She is survived by her two sons: Robert of North Dighton, and Gary and his wife Rhonda of New Jersey. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Sarah (Hartley) Becker and Jonathan and Daniel Hartley. She also leaves her four great-grandchildren: Sydney and James Becker, and Sylvia and Emmeline Hartley.
Inez enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with her grandchildren across the United States and on the beach at Myrtle Beach.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:00 am, at the First Congregational Church of Raynham (Stone Church), 785 South Main Street, Raynham to which relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be private.
