Obituary

Dr. Henry M. DeMarco, 79, of Pawleys Island, SC, formerly of Somerset, MA, Little Compton, RI, and Naples, FL, passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was the husband of twenty-five years to Joan (Potts) DeMarco.

Henry was born in Fall River, the son of the late Henry J. and Gertrude (Banville) DeMarco. He was a graduate of Somerset High School, class of 1956, and then from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in 1963. Henry then served his country for two years with the United States Navy as Dentist at the Naval Submarine Base, New London, Connecticut. He then returned home to Somerset to start his dental practice which operated for thirty-six years, retiring in 2001. Henry enjoyed going to the beach with his wife Joan, traveling, golfing, skiing and quahogging, with his granddaughter, and being with his family and friends.

Survivors besides his wife are a daughter: Deanne M. Midwood and her husband Michael of Somerset; a granddaughter: Allie J. Midwood of Somerset; a sister: Patricia Dorrell of Gilroy, CA: along with several nieces and nephews; and two step daughters: Deborah Perry and husband William of Westport; Lauren Wood of St Petersburg Beach, Florida; three step sons: Alan Finucci of Fall River; Jeffrey Finucci of Savannah, GA; Jay Finucci of Fall River; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was the husband of the late Jeanne (Monastess) DeMarco, father of the late Daniel and Douglas Demarco; brother of the late: Beverly DeMarco.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in Henry's name to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place Street, Memphis, TN 38105.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday January 21, 2018, from 2-4pm, with a Masonic Service following at 4pm in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset.

Burial with Military Honors will be privately held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
