Obituary

Gardner P. Kendrick, Jr., 63, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, May 24, 2018.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Mary (Sherman) Kendrick and Gardner P. Kendrick, Jr., he was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven. He graduated from Fairhaven High School and Bristol Community College. Gardner had been an Optician for many years at various area eyeglass shops, most recently BJ's Optical. He was hard working and was a car enthusiast in his free time.

He is survived by three daughters, Anne T. Best and her fiancé Randy Burnett, Jr. of Spencer, April J. Kendrick of Southbridge and Michaela R. Kendrick of Fairmont, WV; two sons, Gregory P. Kendrick and his fiancé Kelly Scott of New Bedford and Tyler E. Kendrick of Spencer; and seven grandchildren. Gardner was the brother of the late Cynthia Kendrick.

He will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 4, 2018, at 11:00am, in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven followed by interment in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service.
