Obituary

Franklin J. Lake, 85, of Fall River, formerly of Swansea, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Janice (Jorgensen) Lake.

Franklin was born in Fall River, the son of the late Franklin P. and Alice (Anthony) Lake. He worked as a printer for over fifty years for R.E. Smith, retiring in 2003. Mr. Lake was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, in Fall River. Mr. Lake was the past president and former player in the Scholarship City Softball League. Franklin was active with the VFW Post#60, in Fall River, he helped out many local veterans and planned numerous Christmas parties for kids. Mr. Lake also belonged to the Swansea VFW. He enjoyed working in his yard and social gatherings with friends and family.

Survivors are a son: Edward Lake and his life partner Lia Furtado of Fall River; three grandsons: Adam J. Lake and his wife Erika of Fall River; Bradford E. Lake and his wife Shannon of Acushnet; and Zachary J. Lake of Warren; a great granddaughter: Trinity Marie Lake; a niece: Cathy Lake Gomez of Fall River and a nephew: Andrew Lake of Fall River. He was the father of the late Robert Lake and brother of the late William Lake.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 10am, in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow in the North Burying Ground, in Fall River.

Calling Hours will be Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 4-7pm, in the funeral home.
