Obituary

Emeline Proulx, 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2018. She was the wife of the late George A. Proulx.

Emeline was born in Worcester and was the daughter of the late Philip and Florence (Corbeil) Lapointe.

Emeline was employed as head housekeeper at several local nursing homes, including the former Ridgewood Court Nursing Home for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant and longtime member of both St. Joseph and St. Vincent de Paul Church and also belonged to the Firefighter's Wives Association and the Mother's Club.

Emeline loved to sing in her church choir and was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed taking trips across the country to visit family, spend time at the family beach cottage and research her ancestry. Her faith and family were most important to Emeline and brought her the greatest joy in life.

Her family wishes to acknowledge the kind and compassionate care provided to Emeline by the staff of Madonna Manor,in N. Attleboro.

She is survived by her daughters, Annette Sharpe of Harford NY, Norma Pike and her husband Charles of Norton and Audree Schultheiss of Attleboro; brother, Emile Lapointe and his wife Elizabeth of Pawtucket; sisters, Lorraine Walsh of AZ and Theresa Nye of Attleboro; grandchildren, Garrett Sharpe, Angela Houle, Jon Pike and his wife Rebecca, Candace Christian and her husband Robert, Eric Schultheiss and his wife Abigail and Nathan Schultheiss and his wife Gina; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Wilfred and Herve Lapointe, Estelle Roy and Elva Deavellar and grandmother of the late Christina Meisner.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 9am, from the Foley-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 South Main St., Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10am, in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 71 Linden St., Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 4-8 pm, in the funeral home.
