Obituary

Donald T. Partington, 69, of Somerset, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, July 27, 2019, after a long battle with lung disease. He was the loving husband of 33 years to Mary E. (McIntyre) Partington.

Born and raised in Fall River, son of the late William S. and Mildred (Ollis) Partington, he settled in Somerset 25 years ago. Don served faithfully as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for the past 39 years. He was also a graduate of Diman Vocational High School in Fall River and then served in the Navy during and after the Vietnam War. He then joined the Fall River Fire Department where he served the city for over 30 years until his retirement in 2008. Don loved wood turning, cabinet making, metal working, wood carving and also running his sawmill. He was an artist and perfectionist in all that he did. He loved spending time with his family, friends and his grand-dog Kylo.

He is survived by his wife Mary; two sons, Benjamin J. Partington and his wife Maxine and expected grandson Wyatt Thomas and William S. Partington, II and his wife Jamie all of Fall River; a brother, Robert "Butch" Partington and his wife Pat of Dunedin, FL; a sister, Susan Larrivee and her husband Maurice of Assonet; nieces and nephews, Christopher and Tricia Partington, Pamela Donner, Mary Borges and Michelle Kennedy; many great nieces and nephews and his father in law, James McIntyre of Somerset. Don was the son in law of the late Elizabeth (Nolan) McIntyre.

He will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 11, 2019, at 6:30pm, at the Kingdom Hall at 615 Fish Rd., Tiverton, RI.

Arrangements are by the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset.
