David W. Wotton, 74, of Fairhaven, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford after a period of declining health. He was the husband of 51 years to Alta (Shreeve) Wotton.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Alton and Edna (McCartney) Wotton, he was a lifelong Fairhaven resident and 1963 graduate of Fairhaven High School. David served as a Sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and later worked at the Acushnet Company for over 40 years until his retirement.
David was known for his sense of humor and enjoyed teasing people and always had a joke and was able to make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jeannie Wotton of NC and Donna Wotton of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Robert, Christopher, Ryan and Emily; three brothers, Melvin Wotton of Rochester, and Russell and Richard Wotton both of Dartmouth; two sisters, Jeannette Milner and Judy Kearley both of Fairhaven; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank Wotton.
In accordance with his wishes he was cremated and a memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.
