David Thomas Brassard was born on August 4,1960, at the Newport Naval Base in RI. At the young age of 58 he died unexpectedly at home on September 23, 2018.
David attended Dighton Rehoboth Regional HIgh School and graduated in 1978. After high school David joined the US Navy and served with honor for four years on the USS John F Kennedy and took on the hazardous duty of serving on the catapult team. After his military service he attended New England Tech and studied Electrical Engineering.
David made good use of his education and worked the next 26 years as an electrical engineer for Copy Machine company repairing robotic machines; he serviced the New England coast. When the company closed their doors David verbalized how much he missed dealing with his customers and how his ability to be able to fix and repair machines was monumental to his identity. In the last four years David was disabled and unable to work, which he found extremely difficult.
David's interests were varied, but his love of family was foremost. He loved to be surrounded by love ones and his generosity and warm heart will be remember always as it was his greatest asset. His love of music was always evident, and in the last years it is fair to say he was a country music fan. Another favorite past time was participating in historical and political debate with family and friends.
David is survived by eight siblings and their spouses: Sharon Moniz, Brenda Musante, Robert Brassard, Kathleen Martinez, Diana Cassidy, Patricia Malaguti, Patrick Brassard, and Michael Brassard. Additionally, he leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews, and 8 grand nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Robert & Muriel Brassard and his brother Richard Brassard. He will be missed deeply.
