Daniel T. Lowney,

Daniel T. Lowney, Sr. of Somerset, passed away on Octoer 3, 2018, at St. Anne's Hospital after an illness. He was the husband of 56 years to Rose L. (Macedo) Lowney.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Jeremiah Lowney Sr. and the late Auxilia (Menard) Lowney, he graduated from the Massachusetts State Police Academy out of high school, in 1962, and went on to become a Sergeant Detective working in the District Attorney's Office until his retirement in 1988. He then moved to Key Largo, FL where he owned and operated the Seafarer Resort Motel for several years, returning to live in Massachusetts, in 1993.

Mr. Lowney loved to travel with his wife, loved his family deeply, and is remembered as an exceptional cook.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Daniel T. Lowney, Jr., and his wife Carole of Dighton; a daughter, Kelly A. Hughett and her husband Paul of Swansea; seven brothers, Dr. Jeremiah Lowney Jr., Dr. Charles Lowney, Atty. Patrick Lowney, Dr. Michael Lowney, Dr. Timothy Lowney, Dr. John Lowney and Dr. Joseph Lowney; two sisters, Theresa Raymond and Mary Levreault; three grandchildren, Patrick Wallace, Kayla McDonough and Nicholas Lowney; two great granddaughters, Helena Thompson and Kayleigh Wallace; also many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Dr. William Lowney.

A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, October 9th, 2018, at 10 AM, in St. Patrick's Church, South St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Other arrangements held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Haitian Health Foundation, 97 Sherman St., Norwich, CT 06360.
