Bruce A. Mayall

Bruce A. "Pop Pop" Mayall, 78, of Fall River entered into rest unexpectedly at the Charlton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday. He was the husband of Patricia (Small) Mayall. Born in Fall River and a life long resident he spent most of his many summers in Westport. He was the son of the late Arthur Mayall and the late Gertrude (Robinson) Mayall.

Bruce worked as an electrical engineer and programmer for a number of companies. Most recently for Distron Corp. in Attleboro, also Honeywell, Verbex and Radio Shack. He was also a master electrician and taught in the Fall River School System for several years. He was also US Air Force veteran. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of King Philip Lodge A.F.&A.M., also the Scottish Rite Valley of Southeastern, MA and a member of Aleppo Shrine.

"Pop" as many came to know Bruce, was a 1957 graduate of Diman Regional High School, and later New England Tech, the Providence Radio School and the Cleveland Institute of Technology. He was a Baptist Youth Fellowship co-director and long time member of First Baptist Church, Fall River. He was an amateur radio extra class operator, an American Radio Relay League examiner and a member of the Bristol County Repeater Association.

Besides his wife his is survived by a son, Randy S. Mayall and his wife Eileen of Pittsford, NY; a daughter, Robin L. Houde and her husband Duane of Westport; 6 grandchildren Tiffany Houde and her fiancee Newton Barbosa, Ryan and Cara Houde, Scott, Megan and Dylan Mayall; 3 great grandchildren, Jordan Ramsey, Brady Barbosa, Jazlynn Barbosa; a dear friend who was like a son, Vasco Cunha, his wife Filomena and their children Samantha and Alexandria of Methuen, MA; and a cousin Barbara Mayall of Goshen, IN.

His funeral will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11 AM, in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours Sunday, 5-8 PM with masonic service at 7.
