Obituary

Betty A. McKenna, 85, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018. She was the wife of the late Charles E. McKenna.

Betty was born in Wilton, WI and was a daughter of the late Charles and Luella (Blado) Stark.

Betty worked in customer service at Princess House, in Dighton, until her retirement. Betty was very involved in her community, having been a member of the Dighton Community Church and the Dighton Lions Club for many years. She was a founding member of the Dighton Historical Society. Betty was an avid reader and also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and trips to Wisconsin to visit family and friends. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Gailes and her husband Joseph of Dighton, Kathryn McKenna and her husband Donald Ensign of Warren, RI and Margaret McKenna and her husband Kenneth Mello of Somerset; sons, James McKenna and his wife Patricia Wilson of Onset, Thomas McKenna of Dighton and John McKenna and his wife Melissa of Assonet; sister, Joyce Rice of WI; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Donna Schwarz and Bonnie Lou Stark.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 11am, in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton.

Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service, from 9-11am, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Dighton Historical Society, P.O. Box 655, Dighton, MA 02715, or to the Dighton Lions Club, PO Box 204, Dighton, MA 02715.
