Bella R. Ferreira, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. She was the wife of the late Manuel Ferreira.
Bella was born in Lowell and was a daughter of the late Joseph Ferreira and Mary (Abreu) Ferreira.
Bella owned and operated the former Knotty Pine Restaurant, in N. Dighton, for over 30 years with her husband Manuel. She was a long time communicant of St. Paul's Church and enjoyed watching the Red Sox with her son in law. Bella also enjoyed shopping, going out to eat and going on cruises with her daughter who was her best friend and constant companion. Family was most important to Bella. She cherished celebrating the holiday gatherings with her grandson and his family and spending afternoons with her great grandson Luke, who was the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Patricia Medeiros and her husband Alan Medeiros, Esq. of N. Dighton; brother Gilbert Ferreira and his wife Janice of Raynham; sister in law Shirley Ferreira; grandchildren, Alan F.F. Medeiros, Esq. and his wife Sharon and great-grandson Luke Medeiros all of Taunton; nephews, Steven, Micheal and John Ferreira; nieces, Christine Ferreira, and Caroline Harrington; god daughter, Diane Garanito Donovan; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Manuel, Albert, Antone, Francis and Mary Ferreira.
Bella's family wishes to acknowledge the kind and compassionate care provided to her by Dr. James Hoye the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice and her caregivers.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 10am, in Annunciation of the Lord Church, 31 First St., Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend directly to the church.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hosp., 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
