Barbara Jane Cuttle, age 78, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 12, 2018, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer's.
Barbara was born in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of Addison Wells Smith and Helen Kelly Smith. She spent her early years in Fall River, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Durfee High School, in 1954. She married Phillip Cuttle at St. Joseph's Church, in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1966. Barbara attended both Northwestern University and John Hopkins University. She found her passion in the law where she led a long and fulfilling career as a paralegal. She later moved her family to Miami, Florida, in 1973, and then to Tampa Bay in 1993.
Barbara dedicated her life to her family and helping others. More than anything in the world, she loved spending time with her six children, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Barbara's legacy and the sound of her voice singing her most cherished lullaby "I love you a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck" will always resonate throughout the homes of her children and their children. She was known for her skill and enthusiasm in showing dogs. Collies especially were her pride and joy. Barbara also loved art and spending time at art festivals. Her appreciation for cityscapes and landscapes showed throughout her home and this is another legacy passed on to her children.
