SOMERSET-Anna T. Caron, 101, a long time resident of Fall River and Swansea, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 in the Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center. She was the widow of Victor J. Caron.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Michael Wawrow and the late Sophia (Felag) Wawrow, she attended Fall River schools. Anna moved to Swansea in 1948 and was a communicant of St. Louis de France Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality of the parish. She was also a member of the VFW Post 8500 Auxiliary in Somerset.
She is survived by four sons, Michael V. Caron of Westport, Paul J. Caron of Lakeville, William D. Caron, and Peter A. Caron both of Swansea; a daughter, Mary T. Burt of Dartmouth; a sister Bridget Majkut of Fall River; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by five siblings Stephen Wawrow, Jozef Wawrow, William (Friar Bede) Wawrow, Mary Sagan, and the late Josephine Vieira.
Her funeral will be held Friday, December 27, 2019, 9-10 AM from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, with an 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Louis de France Church, Buffinton St., Swansea. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
