Obituary

Agnes F. Gustafson, 80, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2018. She was the wife of the late Frederick S. Gustafson.

Agnes was born in New Gloucester, Maine and was the daughter of the late Wendell and Edith (Sawyer) Merchant.

Agnes enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a registered nurse at Taunton State Hospital for many years and was a longtime member of the Winthrop St. Baptist Church, in Taunton, where she also taught nursery school. She enjoyed water aerobics and traveling north to New Hampshire and Maine with her family.

Agnes is survived by her daughters, Heidi Gustafson of Alaska, and Gail Seidts and her husband John of Maryland; sister, Sandra Schweppe and her husband Walter of Germany; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Michael Merchant.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, at 11am, in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Burial will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, E. Taunton.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 4-7pm, in the funeral home.
