View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Gladys M. (Booker) Nelson, 97, formerly of New Bedford died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 in Southpointe Nursing and Rehab Center in Fall River. She was the widow of Peter W. Nelson. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Nancy (Dewhurst) Booker, she was a lifelong resident of the city before entering Southpointe.
Mrs. Nelson had worked at the Star Store for many years back in the 1950's. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy C. Warrington and her husband Frank of New Bedford; eight grandchildren, Nancy J. Jammal and her husband Elias, Jana L. Vaughan and her husband Steven, Wendy L. Hasson, Dana F. Warrington, Marc P. Warrington, Gary Nelson, Jeffrey Nelson and Christopher Arrowsmith; nine great grandchildren; a niece, Ellen Rogers and a nephew John Rogers and his wife Margaret all of Fairhaven. Mrs. Nelson was the mother of the late Burton A. Nelson and Joan B. Arrowsmith.

Her arrangements were private under the direction of the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford.
