Robert T. Nichols,78 years old, died in Morton Hospital on Saturday September, 23, 2006. Born in Taunton, a son of the late Thomas and Claire ( MacManmon) Nichols.

Educated in Taunton Schools he was the husband of 53 years of Frances (Biedak) Nichols. He is a retired cable splicer for the New England Telephone Company/ Verizon. A communicant of Holy Rosary Church, he was a coach for the Taunton Eastern Little League. He was 36 year New England Patriots Season Ticlet Holder. He belonged to the Italian Naturilization Club, Polish-American Citizens Club, Maximilian Kolbe Guild, VFW lifetime member, Taunton Boys' and Girls' Club and the New England Telephone Pioneers. He like bowling, watching sports on TV, playing cards, reading newpapers and enjoying his children and grandchildren participate in sports. He was a very generous man giving of his time a money to many charitable causes. He was a U S Army veteran having served in Germany in from 1950 to 1952.

Besides his wife he leaves his children,Robert F. Nichols of Taunton, John Nichols of Taunton, Michael Nichols of Wellsley, Ann Nunes of Taunton and Joanne Nichols of Taunton and the late Sgt. Paul Nichols, late of the West Tisbury Police Department; 2 daughters-in-law Lynn Nichols of Taunton and Annie Nichols of Rehoboth and son-in-law Peter Nunes of Taunton; grandchildren Zachary, Daniel, Christopher,Sarah and Kevin Nichols and Katherine, Michael, Mark and Matthew Nunes. He is the brother of Edward Nichols of Mansfield, Barbara Morey of Raynham, Marjorie Gilbert of Taunton and nephew of Gertrude (Nichols) Schofield of NM. He also is an uncle of several.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Rosary Church on Thursday at 10AM. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-9PM in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route `138 South) Taunton. Interment St Joseph's Cemetery.
