View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Ernest J. Jupin, 79, of New Bedford died Monday, January 2, 2006 in Brandon Woods of Dartmouth after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Clarice E. (Rousseau) Jupin.
Born August 19, 1926 in New Bedford the son of the late Michael and Barbara (Bacik) Jupin. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church, New Bedford.
Mr. Jupin served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946 as Second Chief Petty Officer. He later served in the Korean War from 1947 until 1952 as a Second Coxswain Boatswain Mate. He was formerly employed at New England Telephone Company for 34 years and as a Central Office Foreman for 18 years before retiring in 1990. He enjoyed taking his grandsons to the beach, sport, dancing and traveling.
He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Cathy A. Jupin of Brookline and Sharon Bonneau and her husband Richard of Templeton; a brother, Norman Jupin of New Bedford; a sister, Grace McGee of Mattapoisett; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Francis, Albert, Joseph, John, and George Jupin, Helen Shea, Margaret Auger and Florence Jupin.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 8:30 AM from the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford followed a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church, New Bedford. Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 5, 2005 from 5-8 PM.
