ATTLEBORO – Earl R. Fairhurst, 85, of Garfield Avenue, Attleboro, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Born in Seekonk, MA, a son of the late Albert L. & Fern (Eaton) Fairhurst, he was the husband of the late Estelle (Stovin) Fairhurst.

Earl had been employed as an engineer at the Foxboro Company for many years before retiring in 1985. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran who served during WWII. An Attleboro resident for more than three years, hailing from Port Charlotte, FL, he attended the Faith Alliance Church.

Earl was a member of the Port Charlotte Audubon Society, a Ham radio operator for many years, and also enjoyed boating. He loved to go out to eat and play cribbage with his dear friend, Marie LaMothe.

Besides his dear friend, he is survived by two brothers. Lloyd Fairhurst of Merrit Island, Florida, and Ernest Fairhurst of Pawtucket. RI; four sisters, Miriam Burley and Lois Penacho, both of Seekonk, MA, and Beverly Gobin and Linda Strong, both of Rehoboth, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Albert Fairhurst.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 11:00am in the Faith Alliance Church, 833 Pleasant St., Attleboro, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the Foley-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts.
