View Tribute and Sign Guestbook NEW BEDFORD – Frank P. Aguiar, 95, of New Bedford, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at the Oaks in New Bedford after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Kelly) Aguiar. Born in Plymouth, the son of the late Manuel and the late Mary (Ferriero) Aguiar, he grew up in the town and lived in New Bedford since 1934.
Mr. Aguiar was in the Coast Guard Reserve and worked in the construction industry for many years. He was a member of Local Construction Workers Union #1305 of Fall River.
He is survived by a daughter, Joan M. Fournier of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Richard Fournier and Donna Travers, both of New Bedford; and two great-grandchildren, Alex Travers and Sydney Fournier, both of New Bedford; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Aguiar was the brother of the late Manuel and John Aguiar, Anna Silva and Alice Botelho.
Funeral Information
His funeral service will be held Monday, May 18, 2009, at 10:30AM in THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, followed by interment in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford. Visitation will be from 9:30AM until the time of the service.
