Elizabeth (Harwood) Dawson

RAYNHAM – Elizabeth (Betty) (Harwood) Dawson, 87, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater, after a period of failing health. Born in Bellows Falls, VT, the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (O’Connor) Harwood, Betty was married to Richard (Dick) Cutts Dawson for forty-one years until his death in 1987. (He was a former advertising executive for Fernandes Supermarkets and the owner of Dawson Advertising, Inc.)

She and her late husband were avid golfers and members of the Poquoy Brook Country Club, where Betty was the women’s club champion for several years. She was the mother of the late Deborah Shevalier of Raynham who died in 1989, and the mother of Doreen Dawson-Wade and her husband Bill Wade of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and David Dawson and his wife Gretchen Klieber Dawson of South Yarmouth, MA. She was the grandmother of Danielle Shevalier DeForest of Sandwich, Zachary Wade of Florida, and Andrew, Matthew and Abigail Dawson of South Yarmouth.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, Friday, June 5, 2009, from 4:00-8:00PM.
