View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER, MA – Donald F. Remillard, 77, of Somerset, died Friday, November 6, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born on Long Island, NY, the son of the late N. Leonard and Evelyn (Como) Remillard, he was the husband of Jeannette E. (Sabra) Remillard, with whom he shared a fifty-three year marriage.
Mr. Remillard served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army. Following his military service, he went on to graduate from BMC Durfee High School in Fall River. He started working at the former Globe Manufacturing, then worked for Eastern Edison for twenty-three years, retiring in 1993. While he worked for Eastern Edison he also had a part time job at the Taunton Dog Track as a cashier.
Mr. Remillard was a communicant of Saint Patrick’s Church in Somerset. He also was a member of the local IBEW. He was an avid New York Yankee fan, an ardent golfer and a man who loved animals.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Remillard leaves a daughter, Carol L. Redfern of Somerset; a brother, Robert Remillard of Escondido, CA; a grandson, Matthew W. Redfern of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held Monday, November 9, 2009, at 8:00AM from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in Saint Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Entombment will follow the funeral Mass, with MILITARY HONORS, in the Mausoleum at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River. Calling hours with Video Photo Album will be Sunday, November 8, from 3:00-6:00PM in the funeral home.
