Barbara Lou Fleming, 83, lifelong resident of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
She was the wife of the late Richard Fleming and former wife of the late James E. Elderkin.
Barbara was born in Attleboro and was a daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (McManus) Rollins.
Barbara was employed at Fuller Box Co. for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to yard sales and was a talented dancer, and piano and accordion player. It brought Barbara great joy to make the journey to Hawaii with her family for her 70th birthday. She will be remembered as a kind woman who was well known as “everyone’s Nanna.”
Her family wishes to acknowledge the kind and compassionate care provided to Barbara by the staff of the Life Care Center of Attleboro.
She is survived by her son, Edward Elderkin of CA; daughter’s Barbara Barton and her husband David and Pamela Benson all of Attleboro; sisters, Glen Plante and her husband Allen and Jane Kane all of Attleboro; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Claire Peterson.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017, at 7pm, in the Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 S. Main St., Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will be private.
Calling Hours will precede the service from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
