Shirley M. (Needs) Hicks

BERKLEY / TAUNTON – Shirley M. (Needs) Hicks, 75, died Friday, August 20, 2010, in the Life Care Center of Raynham. Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Gardner) Needs, Shirley was the wife of the late James D. Hicks.

Shirley was educated in the Taunton Public Schools and was a long time member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Taunton. She was formerly employed by GTE in Taunton and was for twenty years employed by Princess House in Dighton. She enjoyed her church activities, especially singing in the Choir.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Linda Hicks of Middletown, CT; she was the mother of the late Scott Hicks. She was the sister of John Needs and his wife Elizabeth of Bridgewater and also the sister of the late David Needs, as well as the aunt of several.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Memorial United Methodist Church, 176 Somerset Ave., Taunton Thursday, August 26, 2010, at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, August 25, from 5:00-8:00 PM in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, which is in charge of the arrangements for Shirley’s services Interment will be held in Cedar Knoll Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
