Alice Telles

SOMERSET – Alice Telles, 86, of Fisher Way, Somerset, passed away Friday, June 27, 2008, at the Country Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Swansea. Born in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Bento and Mary (Pavao) Rodrigues, she was the wife of the late Edward Telles.

Mrs. Telles worked at the Little Dorothy Dress Shop for many years as a presser, and then went on to work as the Assistant Social Director at Royal Crest Apartments in Fall River. A member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Somerset, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves three daughters, Carlyn R. Vale and her husband John, Madlyn Cordeiro and her husband David, and Mary Lou Miranda and her husband Bernard, all of Somerset; one son, Edward Telles of Rhode Island; two brothers, Robert Rodrigues of Columbus, Georgia, and George Rodrigues of Fall River; three sisters, Margaret Silvia, Barbara Souza, and Frances Lilliston, all of Fall River; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Telles was the sister of the late Bento Rodrigues, James Rodrigues and Dorothy Dias.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 9:30AM from THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Saint Patrick’s Church, 306 South Street, Somerset. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Road, Fall River. Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, July 1, from 4:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
