Elliott Vallas

SOMERSET – Elliot Vallas, 84, formerly of Somerset, died Monday, March 23, 2009, in Florida. He was the husband of Dixie Judkins.

Mr. Vallas, who served in the Merchant Marines during WWII, was a self-employed tool and dye maker for many years. A resident of Florida for the past fifteen years, he was a lover of life, an avid sailor, having sailed the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Eric Vallas; three step-sons, John Carlton, Mark Carlton, David Carlton; two daughters, Carole Shulze and Mersa D’Amico; a step-daughter, Susan Carlton; a brother, Timothy Vallas; and a sister, Irene Sherburne. He was the grandfather of eight, and was the father of the late Elliot Vallas, and also the grandfather of the late Chelsea Vallas.

Funeral Information

His funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 2:00PM in THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 1:00-2:00PM in the funeral home, prior to the funeral.
