View Tribute and Sign Guestbook SWANSEA, MA – Lionel B. Thivierge, 97, of Swansea, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Somerset. Born in Tiverton, RI, the son of the late Arthur and Laura (Coulombe) Thivierge, Mr. Thivierge served his country during WW II with the United States Army.
Mr. Thivierge worked as a self-employed truck driver for over twenty–five years before retiring in 1973. Lionel was the oldest member of the VFW Post 8500. He also was a communicant of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Swansea and a member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Cassidy Council, also in Swansea.
He is survived by a daughter Michelle E. D’Allesandro and her husband Michael of Swansea; a son, Arthur L. Thivierge of Soap Lake, WA; two sisters, Florence LeBlanc of Attleboro, MA, and Lillian Edwards of Weathersfield, CT; three grandchildren, Kori, Robert and Teddy; two great-grandchildren, Jeremy Michel and Robert, Jr.; and by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jeanne St. Pierre and William Thivierge.
