LINCOLN – Fernand J. "Star" L'Etoile, 78, of Old River Road, Lincoln, died on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, in the Friendly Nursing Home in Woonsocket. Born in the village of Manville in Lincoln, a son of the late Arthur and Angeline (Desmarais) L’Etoile, he was the beloved husband of Doris R.(Hetu) L’Etoile, to whom he was married sixty years.

Mr. L’Etoile made his home in Lincoln for the past twenty years, having previously resided in Woonsocket where he worked for the Water Treatment Plant for more than thirty years before retiring. His favorite pastimes were walking, salt water fishing, and digging clams and quahoags.

Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Gerard P. and his wife Connie L’Etoile of Auburn, Indiana; and four daughters, Ruth F. Lanctot and Paulette Beauregard, both of Woonsocket, Denise R. and her husband Dennis G. Dubois of North Smithfield, and Linda J. Cherwinski of Bellingham; as well as thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at 9:00AM from THE MENARD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Carrington Avenue, Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. James’ Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Burial will follow the funeral Mass in St. James’ Cemetery in Manville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
