SEEKONK, MA – Joseph A. Ochab, DDS, 79, of Central Avenue, Seekonk, formerly of Pocasset, MA, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Water View Villa Nursing Home, East Providence, RI. Born in Watertown, MA, the son of the late Michael and Mary (Ciorko) Ochab, he was the husband of Diane (Papineau) Ochab.

A graduate of Watertown (MA) High School, Dr. Ochab was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he was awarded the Good Conduct and the National Defense Service Medals. Following his military service, Dr. Ochab received his bachelors degree from Boston College, and went on to obtain his D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) in Dentistry from Loyola University in 1959. He worked as a dentist for thirty-nine years, retiring in 1998.

Dr. Ochab practiced in Pocasset (MA) for twenty-five years and then concluded his professional career in Seekonk for the last seventeen years. He was the former owner of the Crow’s Nest Clinic, a member of the American Dental Society, and a communicant of Saint Stephen’s Church in Attleboro.

Besides his wife, Dr. Ochab leaves one son, Paul Ochab and his wife Patty of Barrington, RI; a step-son, Arthur Trahan and his wife, Kathy of Seekonk, MA; a step-daughter, Rolande “Ronnie” C. Williams of Seekonk; a brother, Henry Ochab of Watertown, MA; a sister, Agnes Pietraziak of Englewood, Florida; nine grandchildren, Zachary Ochab, Joseph Beauchaine, Nicholas Beauchaine, Lindsay Trahan, Lee Trahan, Benjamin Pina, Mario, William and Madison Turco. He was the brother of the late Dr. John Ochab and Helen Kidd.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held Monday, December 29, 2008, at 8:45AM from the FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 126 S. Main St., Attleboro, MA, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Saint Stephen’s Church, South Main Street, Route 152, Attleboro; burial will follow in Saint Stephen’s Cemetery.
