Virginia B. (Crivaro) Joyce, 74, of Dighton, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017, at her home. She was the wife of Maurice F. Joyce.
Virginia was born in Manhattan, New York, the daughter of the late Vincent J. and Caroline (Bonstingle) Crivaro. Mrs. Joyce worked as a teller at Bay Bank, in Taunton, for several years. Virginia then devoted her life to raising her family. Ginny loved to make crafts, porcelain dolls, cooking and decorating for the holidays. Her family was her life and she truly cherished the time she spent with them and her friends. Mrs. Joyce was also a communicant of Saint Nicholas of Myra Church and the former Saint Peter’s Church.
Survivors, besides her husband, are two daughters: Jeanette M. Steeves and her husband Matthew of North Attleboro; and Carolyn L.M. Joyce and her Fiancé Christopher Farrah of Taunton; three sons: Richard “Ricky” Medeiros and his wife Janet of Laurel, DE; James A. Medeiros and his wife Kristen of Berkley; and M. Frankie Joyce and his wife Shari of Canton; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Quinlan and Allie Pinder both of Swansea; a brother: James Crivaro of Swansea; along with many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rose Spooner and Katherine Leonard.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 8:45am, from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street, Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church, 499 Spring Street, Dighton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery, in Somerset.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, from 4-7pm, in the funeral home.
