James B. Jackson, age 81, of Thurber Avenue, Attleboro died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the loving husband of 57 years of Carol L. (Wright) Jackson. Mr. Jackson was born in Fall River, MA on January 2, 1925, a son of the late James B. and Orebelle (Manchester) Jackson. He had lived in Attleboro since 1959 having previously lived in Rehoboth, MA. Mr. Jackson was a Veteran of WW II, serving proudly with the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific and was a member of the American Legion Post #312 in South Attleboro. He was a Supervisor in the Shipping Department of the Davol Rubber Co. in Cranston, RI for 30 years before retiring in 1986. He was an avid Bird Fancier since the age of 12 and was a member of American Racing Pigeon Union and the RI Racing Pigeon Club. Besides his wife he leaves two sons James B. Jackson, III and his wife Kathy J. Jackson of Rehoboth, MA and Stephen A. and his wife Lisa M. Jackson of Seekonk, MA. Eight grandchildren and eight great grand grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara (Jackson) Farrel and Russell Jackson. Funeral InformationMr. Jackson’s funeral will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Daniel T. Dore on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 11 AM in THE FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main St. (Route 152) in Attleboro. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Newell Burying Ground, West St., South Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may visit with the family from 10 to 11 AM before the service. |
