Gordon T. Wilbur

TAUNTON – Gordon T. “Flash” Wilbur, 78, suddenly Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at his residence. Born in Taunton, the son of the late Walter and Helen (Westgate) Wilbur, he was the husband of the late Evelyn (Sheppard) Wilbur.

Mr. Wilbur attended the Taunton Public Schools and graduated from Taunton High School. He was a Korean Era veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Wilbur was a retired security officer at Reed and Barton Silver Co. and was also employed Wilbur Texaco on Rt. 44 in Raynham, a family business, for many years also. He was a thirty-one year member of the American Legion Post in Raynham.

Mr. Wilbur was the father of David Wilbur of Taunton and his wife Tracy, and Thomas Wilbur and his wife Bonnie of Raynham. He was the grandfather of six, the great-grandfather of one, and the brother of Shirley Smith of Taunton.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in the CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham. Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 29, from 4:00-8:00PM.
