Edward R. Pacheco

Edward R. Pacheco, 89, longtime resident of Fall River, passed away, Tuesday, March 14, 2017. He was the wife of Albertina (Barreira) Pacheco.
Edward was born in Fall River and was a son of the late Manuel and Sophie (Oliveira) Pacheco.
Edward was a 1947 graduate of BMC Durfee High School and a US Navy veteran of World War II and Korea. He worked as a sales representative for the Nestle Corporation for 25 years and went on to become a partner in CMP Corp., co-own Cloverdale Farms Convenience Stores in the area, and was owner of P ’n P Antiques, in Tiverton. Edward was a communicant of St. Christopher’s Church, in Tiverton, for many years and was a member of the Ralph Souze Post of Portuguese War Veterans and past president of the Fall River Jaycees. He and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the Carribean, Europe and the US and spent many winters in Florida.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Carol Cantrell and Nancy Pacheco.
He was the father of the late Thomas Pacheco and brother of the late Mary Bernard, Mildred Medeiros and Olive and Gloria Pacheco.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017, at 11am, in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will precede the funeral service from 10-11am in the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Salvations Army, 290 Bedford St., Fall River, MA 02720.
