View Tribute and Sign Guestbook NEW BEDFORD – Alice M. (Carvalho) Mahaney, 82, of Fairhaven, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. She was the wife of John M. Mahaney and the late Malcolm Bouley. Born in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late Jose and the late Palmeira (Teixeira) Carvalho, she settled in Fairhaven in 1941.
Mrs. Mahaney was a graduate of Bayonne High School in New Jersey. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and Couple’s Club. She was also a member of the Colonial Club and the Friends of the Elderly in Fairhaven. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mahaney leaves three sons, Steven J. Bouley and his wife Cindy, James P. Mahaney and his wife Carole, and Michael K. Mahaney and his wife Sherri, all of Fairhaven; a daughter, Susan A. MacDonald of Alpharetta, GA; a brother, Fred Carvalho of Fairhaven; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 27, 2007, at 10:00AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven, followed by interment in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. All other arrangements are private and have entrusted to the loving care and direction of the FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven.
