John E. Collard, 74, of North Dighton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Morton Hospital from complications of Parkinson's Disease and a broken heart, reuniting with his late granddaughter Erin Noble. John was the husband of fifty one years to Adele (Corrigan) Collard.
He was a graduate of Dighton High School class of 1960. Mr. Collard owned and operated Johnny’s Market, in North Dighton, for over thirty-five years. He was active with the Lion’s Club. He served on the Board of Trustee’s at Bristol County Agricultural High School. Mr. Collard was a passionate fan of the New York Yankee’s, New England Patriots, NASCAR, Boston Bruins and any other sports teams his granddaughters played on.
Survivors besides his wife are two daughters: Kristen Collard of Kona, HI; Michele Pearce and her husband Dave of North Dighton, MA; a son: Jeff Collard and his wife Avery of North Attleboro, MA; three grandchildren: Olivia Noble of North Dighton, MA; Grace Collard and Caroline Collard of North Attleboro, MA; two sisters: Elizabeth Martin of Dighton, MA; Jeanne Donovan of Attleboro, MA ; two brothers: Thomas Collard of Rumford, RI; and Hugh Collard of Jamestown, RI.
Calling hours for John will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017, from 4-8pm, in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will be privately held at a later date.
