Claire (Perron) Parent

SOMERSET – Claire (Perron) Parent, 78, of Wilbur Avenue, Somerset, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the Clifton Nursing Center in Somerset. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Lorenzo & Alma (Potvin) Perron, she was the wife of the late Normand C. Parent.

A Somerset resident since 1968 coming originally from Fall River, Mrs. Parent worked as a home health aide for more than seven years. She was a parishioner of the former Our Lady of Fatima Church (now St. Francis of Assisi Parish). She had also worked for the Elbee File Company, was a member of the Our Lady of Fatima Women’s Guild, and enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, and loved to smile.

She is survived by two sons, Norman P. Parent of Somerset and Michael C. Parent of Fall River; two daughters, Diane Aguiar of Northbridge, MA, and Donna Canuel of Rehoboth; a sister, Lorraine Liley of Missouri. She was the grandmother of six, the great-grandmother of one, and the aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Roger Perron.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009, at 9:00AM from THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 8, from 5:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
