View Tribute and Sign Guestbook SWANSEA – Normand J. Beaulieu, 69, of Swansea, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Leo and Rosanna (Petrin) Beaulieu, he was the husband of Ruth (Ruest) Beaulieu, to whom he was married forty-nine years.
Mr. Beaulieu was employed as a welder for the former Bethlehem Steel Company in Quincy, and then for General Dynamics in North Kingston, retiring in 1994. A resident of Fall River for over thirty years before moving to Swansea in 1971, he was a communicant of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Swansea and a lifelong member of the Saint John’s Club in Fall River. He enjoyed cruising, traveling to Foxwoods and Las Vegas, and was an avid New England Patriots fan. Normand will be remembered for his great sense of humor, generosity and love of life. He enjoyed being with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Beaulieu leaves a brother, Raymond Beaulieu of Fall River; three nephews, Joseph Cabral and his wife Donna of Somerset, David Cabral and his wife Cheryl of Fairhaven, MA, and Tony Cabral of Fall River. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Julette Duclos, Leo and Albert Guay, and Arthur Beaulieu.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009, at 8:00AM from THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 23, from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
