Mary E. (Teixeira) Olivera

MATAWAN, NJ – Mary E. (Teixeira) Olivera, 95, of Matawan, New Jersey, died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Victoria House in Matawan. She was the wife of the late John S. Olivera. Born and raised in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late John M. and the late Mary (Teixeira) Teixeira, she attended Fairhaven High School and the (former) Kinyon Business School in New Bedford. Mary was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Fairhaven and later St. Mark’s Church in Boynton Beach, FL.

Mrs. Olivera lived in New Jersey for thirty-four years, where she worked for RCA in Clark, NJ, for twenty-five years until her retirement in 1975. After retiring she moved to Boynton Beach where she and her husband had enjoyed vacationing in the winter. After settling there, she started the Four Seasons Travel Agency.

She is survived by a son, John S. Olivera and his wife Lynn of Cliffwood Beach, NJ; two granddaughters, Susan Dixon and her husband Peter of Lawrenceville, NJ, and Diane Murdock and her husband Matthew of Germantown, MD; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Allison Dixon; a sister, Evelyn Martin, of Fairhaven; and a niece and godchild, Janet Collette of Dennis, MA.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 9:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church in Fairhaven, followed by interment in St. John’s Cemetery, New Bedford.
