View Tribute and Sign Guestbook WESTPORT, MA – Daniel J. Eagan, 89, of Westport, MA, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at his residence in Westport. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Young) Eagan, he was the husband of Lois (Turcotte) Eagan, with whom he shared a fifty-nine year marriage.
He served his country with the United States Navy during WWII. Following the completion of his military service, Mr. Eagan worked at the Newport Naval Base for over twenty years as a pipe fitter, retiring 1979. Daniel was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Fall River.
Mr. Eagan was a bronze member of the DAV and the Fall River Lodge of Elks#118. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia E. Eagan and her husband Douglas J. Machado of Fall River, and Elaine E. McGraw and her husband John McGraw, Jr., of Endicott, NY; a sister, Mary Otocki of Florida; and a brother, Francis Eagan of Bristol, RI; three grandchildren, John, Kate, and Daniel; a great-grandson, Cameron.
Funeral Information
His funeral service will be held Monday, October 19, 2009, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Holy Trinity Parish, 951 Stafford Rd., Fall River. Burial will follow with MILITARY HONORS IN Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
