Mrs. Laurence M. Demers

WESTPORT – Mrs. Laurence M. Demers, a resident of Fall River and Westport for more than 70 years, died on September 19, 2009, following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Morin and Marie (Labreche) Morin. A graduate of Somerset High School, she was married to the late Dr. Adelard A. Demers, whom she assisted in his medical practice.

For a number of years, Mrs. Demers served as the treasurer of the St. Anne’s Hospital gift shop. Mrs. Demers was fond of taking vacation trips with her family. In particular, she enjoyed several vacations in France as well as many trips along the Maine coast. She was a member of Bakers Beach Club in Westport.

Mrs. Demers leaves five daughters: Dolores Ferdon of Dana Point, California, Marguerite Sheahan of Westport, Louise Noble of Duxbury, Suzanne Widdowson of Los Gatos, California, and Denise Demers of Westport. She also leaves five grandchildren: Daniel Sheahan; Christopher Noble; Kathryn Widdowson; Alexander Noble and Jonathan Widdowson.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 23, 2009, in St. John the Baptist Church, 945 Main Rd., Westport, MA. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Burial is private at the family’s request. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River.
