FAIRHAVEN – Robert J. Victorino, 59, of Fairhaven, died Friday, April 9, 2010, at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Susan B. (Rapoza) Victorino, with whom he shared a thirty-three year marriage. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and the late Angelina (Brillo) Victorino, he grew up in Fairhaven and lived in New Bedford before settling in Fairhaven six years ago. Mr. Victorino served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later worked as an auto mechanic at Safe Guard Transmissions in New Bedford for the past fifteen years. He enjoyed puzzles, doing yard work, fishing, working on his cars, as well as spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by a son, Robert S. Victorino and his wife Cindy of New Bedford; a daughter, Sara L. Correia and her husband Jeffery of Fairhaven; his mother-in-law, Clotilde Rapoza of New Bedford; a brother, Joseph Victorino and his wife Carole of Taunton; three sisters, Anne Robinson and her husband Raymond of Westport, Linda Millette and her husband Donald of New Bedford and Kathleen Beales and her husband Todd of Wareham; a granddaughter, Lilah Correia; three aunts, Lucille Victorino of Fairhaven, Evelyn Sebastiao of Dartmouth and Lucy Medeiros of Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral InformationA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment in River-Side Cemetery with military honors.
