View Tribute and Sign Guestbook BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Isaac "Izzy" Schwartz, 91, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Fall River, MA, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Hyman and Goldie (Cohen) Schwartz, he was the husband of Tylda (Golenpaul) Schwartz, to whom he was married sixty-one years.
Mr. Schwartz graduated with the Class of 1934 from BMC Durfee High School, then attended MIT, graduating with a degree in civil engineering in 1938. Mr. Schwartz served his country with the United States Army. “Izzy” worked with his father and four brothers at Schwartz & Sons in Fall River for over thirty years, and was then owner of IZ Schwartz Appliance in Somerset for twenty-eight years.
He will be remembered as a gentle-man, as well as an avid golfer, tennis and squash player.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Schwartz leaves two daughters, Ginny S. Lepow of Newton, MA, and Susan Schwartz Livingston of Old Tappan, NJ; a brother, Lester Schwartz of Tiverton, RI; seven grandchildren Joanna, Charles, Rebecca, Zachary, Molly, Aimee, and Leah; four great-grandchildren, Juliana, Joshua Barry, Mason, and Hudson. He was the father of the late Barry Michael Schwartz.
Funeral Information
His funeral service will be held Sunday, January 4, 2009, at 12:00 Noon in Temple Beth El, 385 High St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend; burial will follow in Beth El Cemetery. Memorial Observance will be held at the home of Ginny S. Lepow, 357 Centre St., Apt. 2, Newton, MA, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 3:00-5:00PM & 7:00-9:00PM.
