Frank “Buck” R. Rogers, 85, of North Dighton, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 surrounded by his family at Life Care of Raynham. He was the husband of the late Sandra (Landry) Rogers.
Frank was born in North Dighton, the son of the late Frank and Alice (Marvel) Rogers.
He was a graduate of Dighton High School class of 1949. Mr. Rogers then served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army earning the Rank of Corporal and receiving two Bronze Stars. Frank began working at Maxim Motor Company in Middelboro and then for the Town of Dighton for over twenty-five years as the Town Treasurer, Collector and Clerk, retiring in 1994. He was very active with the Dighton Lions serving as Past President and Treasurer, he also was the recipient of the Melvin Jones award. Mr. Rogers was the treasurer for the VFW David F. Adams Post# 611 in Taunton. Buck enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Dighton Diner. He also cherished the time he spent with his family especially his nieces and nephews.
Survivors are a son: Guy R. Rogers of North Dighton; a sister: Jeanne A. Noons and her husband Richard of North Dighton; along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sheila Colaluca.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10am in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow with Military Honors in Cedar Knoll Cemetery East Taunton.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
