ATTLEBORO – Beatrice Louisa (Maddren) Amos, 90, of Garfield Street (Canterbury Woods), Attleboro, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at her home. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late William J. and I. Beatrice (Rule) Maddren, she was the wife of the late Walter J. Amos. Mrs. Amos had been a registered nurse for Health-Tex for many years. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, bird-watching and traveling around the United States and abroad. A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Seekonk, she donated a substantial amount of money to the Attleboro Veterans for a transportation van in memory of her late husband. A graduate of Central High School in Providence, Mrs. Amos also attended the Butler Hospital Nursing School for three years, where she was president of the Hospital Alumni. She leaves one sister, Dorothy M. Maddren of Narragansett, R.I.; one brother, Herbert J. Maddren of Blackwood, N.J.; seven nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Amos was the sister of the late, E. Grace Hey and William J. Maddren, Jr. Funeral InformationA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 17, 2007, at 10:00AM in Saint Mary’s Church, Central and Coyle Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will follow in Saint Columba Cemetery, Brown’s Lane, Middletown, R.I. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6:00-8:00PM in the COOK FUNERAL HOME, 160 Park Street, Attleboro.
